Going along this same thought, it would be nice to have the "out for delivery" items at the top of the "my deliveries" list, and even better to have everything after that ordered by estimated delivery date, ascending by days to delivery.

It doesn't have to detect the exact carrier. Instead, it could show a short list of which carriers are applicable given the tracking number length, which would usually be only 1 or 2. Then have all the rest listed underneath as a fail-safe for incorrect carrier detection. Top to bottom "Add a package" could read: Description, tracking number, most appropriate carriers, all carriers.
