Time out problems

Anònim fa 12 anys updated by Posted Admin (Admin) fa 12 anys 5
Hi,
I very much liked using posted to track my parcels, but the last weeks I discovered problems with a lot of time outs when trying to update the status.
Internet connection itself is always good.
What could be the prolem?

There are no known problems right now, are you able to let me know the tracking number(s) and postal companies you are using?

I assume you are seeing a red error message when you try to refresh? If so, please let me know what it says.

It could be caused by a number of things, but one thing to keep in mind is that this will happen if the website of the postal company is down or slow.. as Posted relies on this in order to work. One common culprit for this is China Post Registered, so if you have that type of parcel in the app - it is most likely caused by their website being down or slow.

The other possibility is that the postal company website has changed its website which will cause this type of issue.

Hi,

thanks for the fast reply.

Here is one of the tracking numbers 201277592224 the postal company ist DHL Germany.

The red error message says 'Error updating "name" - Reason: 'The request timed out'. - Please try again later'.

Viewing the company website from within the app always shows the current website. The only thing that has changed is, that now a 'mobile' website is shown. In he past the desktop version of the tracking website was displayed.

I hope the information can help solving the isuues.

Hi Thomas, Very sorry, there was a slight change on the DHL Germany website which was causing this to not work very well anymore. I believe I have fixed this now so please let me know if the problem continues.
Hi,
Sorry for my late reply. I cant't see any change in behaviour. I still get timeouts on all my DHL trackings. Maybe your change hasn't worked
Yep it very much didn't work.

I have just converted this over to the mobile site as the source for information - it seems to be working a lot better from my testing. I will keep an eye on it for the next day or so.. but please do let me know if you see an improvement or if the issue persists.

Only downside is that the mobile site only has tracking results available in German... whereas before I could present the information in English for english users. So not sure if that will be a problem for you or not.

Now it works very well!
German is no problem for me, I don't know how many english users are tracking DHL Germany. For me the german language is an improvement but  for international use English wold be the universal choice.
Thanks for your support!
