Allow push notifications to be customised to only send a push notification when a parcel is "Out for Delivery" or "Delivered"
This will mean you dont get a push notification for every single tracking update

Good idea. Only problem is that because the app supports so many providers (65+) it makes it very difficult to safely implement this across all providers. The big carriers like UPS, DHL, TNT, Fedex & UPS would be easy for this, but the small-time carriers are more difficult to know what the "Out for Delivery" status updated actually are in their systems - sometimes they vary wildly too.
Not ruling this one out.. just will take a lot more effort than might be thought.

I think this is key, because I do not need an update when my package has moved from state to state, especially because this tends to happen late at night or early in the morning and will wake me up. I love the status update of Out for Delivery or Delivered / Not Delivered, but should be able to track ALL status, or select which occurances you wanted to be pushed. I know there is a lot of carriers, then just do the major ones for now if you can. UPS / FEDEX is what everyone I know uses it for. USPS tracking is horrible on their part, I usually get the package and then get an update two days after receiving it. I have never had faith in their tracking.
Well, because of the huge amount of services you are supporting this is difficult - right.
But why should the most often and biggest used services didn't get even better?
The Option will help like Jason says a lot. Every step is, at least for me and i'm sure for many other too, not necesarry and will also degrease the amont of data your server has to push!
Why don't call the option like this "Activate just last step notification" and add a infotext, that just the ~5 biggest services (and name them) are supported. It will help most people!
I love to see this, think about it! ;)
At least you can provide an option to push notification within a time frame so that it does not wake up someone in the middle of night.
